Gujarat Election commission Announced Nagarapalika and Mahanagarapalika Election Dates 2023

The State Election Commission has announced the by-election dates for vacant seats in Municipalities and Municipal Corporations in the state. According to the notification issued by the Election Commission regarding

  • The notification for the by-election will be published from July 17
  • July 22 Last date for candidates to fill the form
  • Voting will be held on August 6
  • Counting of votes will be done on August 8

By-elections will be held for 29 seats in 18 municipalities, for three seats in 2 municipalities in the state. By-elections will be held for two seats in Ward 20 of Surat Municipal Corporation and Ward-15 of Rajkot Municipal Corporation.

The State Election Commission has also appointed Election Officers and Assistant Election Officers in municipalities including Rajkot and Surat. The notification for the by-election will be published from July 17, July 22 is the last date for candidates to fill the form. Verification of candidates’ form will be done on July 24. Candidates can withdraw the form on 25th.

Talking about the municipal by-elections, by-elections will be held in Ward No. 20 in Surat on the general seat. While in Rajkot, by-elections will be held on the seat for Scheduled Tribe (Female) and other general seats in Ward No. 15. While by-elections will be held in the municipalities of Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Narmada, Banaskantha, Surendranagar, Aravalli, Ahmedabad, Anand, Porbandar, Patan, Mehsana, Kheda, Kutch, Girsomanath and Panchmahal districts.
